The annual Cookie Walk begins tomorrow, Wednesday, December 2!  We are asking each family to send two dozen of their favorite homemade holiday cookies or treats to share with the teachers and staff members at CES.  Volunteers will be collecting these goodies in the morning car rider line and bus lot on both Wednesday, December 2, and Thursday, December 3.  Teachers and staff will then fill up boxes of these treats to take home and share with their families.  We thank you very much for making this event possible!

It’s not too late to get those Yearbook Cover Contest entries in!  Tomorrow, Tuesday, 12/1 will be the last day to submit yearbook cover drawings to your student’s teacher.  We hope your student(s) will participate for a chance to have their artwork on the yearbook cover AND receive a free yearbook. All students, K-5, are eligible to participate.  See below for more details.

Please have your child submit his/her original artwork to be entered in the contest for the 2015-2016 Cornelius Elementary School Yearbook Cover Contest!

Guidelines:

• ALL artwork must be completed by the STUDENT ONLY with no assistance from parents or siblings

• Please have the student create his/her artwork on a regular 8 1/2 X 11” paper (position paper vertically)

• Please list student’s name and teacher on BACK of paper

• It is helpful to have the School Name and school year (2015-2016) within the artwork

Turn all entries in to your teacher by December 1st.  Principal Holbrook will review all entries and choose a winner.  The winner receives a FREE YEARBOOK!

Ms. Holbrook’s birthday is 11/15 and we will be celebrating at school on Monday, 11/16. We will be decorating her door, bringing her lunch and giving a small gift. If you would like to join us in helping to make her feel special, please have your student(s) bring a card (homemade, store bought, anything!) to school on Monday, 11/16.  We will be collecting them.  Thank you!
