Teacher Appreciation Week 5/4-5/8

May 4th-8th is Teacher Appreciation Week! Let’s show everyone at Cornelius Elementary “How Sweet It Is To Have Staff Like You!” The PTO Crew will have a balloon arch for photos set up in the front lobby, a prize wheel, raffles, and a breakfast, lunch, or special treat each day. We’ll end the week with a beautiful fresh flower bar for our teachers & staff!

Students and families, here’s what the PTO Crew has planned for the week and the ways you can join us in celebrating CES Staff each day!

Monday, May 4: Draw a sweet picture for your teachers and staff – think of your teacher’s favorite animal, colors, or interests! CES staff will be treated to breakfast from Chick-fil-A to kick off the week and their first chance to spin the prize wheel!

Tuesday, May 5: write a sweet poem or note for your teachers and support staff.  Younger students, take the letters of your teacher’s name and write down a word or phrase that starts with each letter! For example, for CES:

C: Creating

E: Exceptional

S: Students!

Staff will enjoy a special Taco Tuesday lunch from EL Toro, plus our first day of raffle baskets!

Wednesday, May 6: Our teachers bring us tears of joy! Bring in a box of tissues for your classroom. CES staff will be treated to a pizza lunch from Brooklyn South AND a take home dinner from H2, plus another chance to spin the prize wheel!

Thursday, May 7: The festivities continue with a donut treat from Your Mom’s Donuts AND a coffee cart pick-me-up from The Coffeeshop. Students can keep the treats coming by bringing in your teacher’s favorite sweet or salty snack!

Friday, May 8: On the last day of Teacher Appreciation week, students can bring in or draw a flower for your teachers and staff to build a sweet bouquet of appreciation.

CES Staff will be served lunch from Fresh Chef and have their last chance to spin the prize wheel. We’ll end the week with a beautiful fresh flower bar from Social Stems where staff can create their own bouquets to take home!

Check out staff surveys on the Cornelius PTO website to see their favorite colors, flowers, snacks, and interests for inspiration throughout the week!
