Please join us as we celebrate the amazing teachers and staff members at Cornelius Elementary. Next week, May 7-11, we are asking students to show their appreciation by bringing in special notes, treats, gifts and flowers for their teacher and assigned staff member. Our Hospitality Committee has also arranged to provide lunch each day, as well as a couple breakfasts and treats, too.
Please have your student participate by bringing in the following each day for their teacher and assigned staff member.
Monday, 5/7: Monday Morning Memos (present your teacher with a note telling them why they are so wonderful)
Tuesday, 5/8: Tuesday Treats (bring a sweet treat or piece of candy)
Wednesday, 5/9: Wonderful Words (Choose a word to describe your teacher for each letter of their name, write it down and bring it in. (acrostic Poem))
Example: Smart Magnificent Intelligent Terrific Honest (Smith)
Thursday, 5/10: Thursday’s Terrific Teacher (room parents will present class gifts)
Friday, 5/11: Friday Flowers (bring a flower or create your own drawing of a flower)

Art By Me ordering information was sent home in March in blue communication folders.
Art By Me, Inc. offers unique art programs that transform a student’s artwork into beautiful, professionally made products!
Creating art is fun for students. Art By Me generates additional enthusiasm and excitement among students as they see customized products made from their own artwork. Students develop positive attitudes and their self-esteem is boosted at seeing parents and family members buying t-shirts, calendars, note cards, etc. that display their masterpieces.
There are over 50 items to choose from and they make great Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts! Thank you for your support!
If you would like to make a purchase, please do so online at www.artbyme.com/shop

Take a night off from cooking and support your school!
The PTO is looking for committee volunteers and chairs for the upcoming 2018-19 school year. We still need chair people for Celebrate the Arts, Holiday Store, Son Event, and Daughter Dance. We are grateful for all our volunteers and would love to work with you next year. For more information please contact Caroline Campbell email@example.com Thank you!
Cornelius Celebrates the Arts: This special event celebrates our students’ talents in art, music, dance and more. Committee volunteers help before, during and after the event by coordinating Talent Show, securing food vendors, securing event sponsors, helping the night of the event, etc.
Holiday Store: The Holiday Store opens for one week each December. Students visit with their classes to purchase gifts for family and friends. Volunteers help assist in ordering products and wrapping materials for the store, coordinate shopping times with teachers, donate time to help students shop, check-out and wrap their gifts, set up and clean up.
Son Event Committee: Each year, CES hosts a Son Event. This committee works closely together to create an event, identify a date, send registration forms to students, collect RSVPs and collect ticket money and distribute tickets prior to the event, and ensure a seamless event night.
Daughter Dance Committee: The Daughter Dance Committee works to transform our school cafeteria into the year’s theme and create a night of fun. This committee does everything including decorations, hiring a DJ, selecting food, coordinating ticket sales, and coordinating volunteers for set-up and clean-up.
