The annual Cookie Walk begins tomorrow, Wednesday, December 14!  We are asking each family to send two dozen of their favorite homemade holiday cookies or treats to share with the teachers and staff members at CES.  Volunteers will be collecting these goodies in the morning car rider line and bus lot on both Wednesday, December 14, and Thursday, December 15.  Teachers and staff will then fill up boxes of these treats to take home and share with their families.  We thank you very much for making this event possible!

Please join us, tomorrow, Tuesday, December 13^th, from 3-9PM for Community Night at Hungry Howie’s Pizza. They are very generously donating 10% of net sales to CES PTO for Pick-up AND DELIVERY! Give yourself a night off from cooking and support our school!

Our annual Yearbook Cover Contest is underway!  We hope your student(s) will participate for a chance to have their artwork on the yearbook cover AND receive a free yearbook. All students, K-5, are eligible to participate.  For more details, see below.

Please have your child submit his/her original artwork to be entered in the contest for the 2016-2017 Cornelius Elementary School Yearbook Cover Contest!

Guidelines:

• ALL artwork must be completed by the STUDENT ONLY with no assistance from parents or siblings.
• Please create your artwork on a regular 8 1/2 X 11” paper (Vertical).
• Please list child’s name and teacher on the BACK of the paper.
• It is helpful to have the School Name and school year (2016-2017) within the artwork.

Turn all entries in to your teacher by December 13th.  Principal Holbrook will review all entries and choose a winner.  The winner receives a FREE YEARBOOK!

Assistant Principal Brammer’s birthday is coming up!  Let’s help her celebrate by sending in cards from students and parents.  They can be homemade, a simple note wishing her well or store bought.  Please bring in all cards this Tuesday, December 6, either to your student’s teacher or drop them off at the front office.  Thank you for helping us make her feel special!
