Cornelius Elementary /Teacher Scoop Night at Bruster’s Ice Cream 17029 Kenton Circle

Please join us for our last Community Event / School Spirit Night. Let’s celebrate the end of the school year with students, family, teachers and staff. A portion of the sales from 5:00 – 7:00 PM will be donated back to the PTO. Please mention Cornelius when ordering!

 

Vote for Our Student!

Great news!  Our student Sydney Vance’s writing has been selected out of 500 writings across the nation to be eligible to win $5,000 for our classroom!!!!!  Now it is up to public vote.  See the information below!  We need every vote we can get.  Please send this to as many people as you can.  You must be 13 years or older and set up a log in.  It does not cost and takes about 2 minutes.  You can vote once for every email.  Please help our classroom win $5,000 and recognize Sydney’s excellent writing achievement.

500 entries from all over the nation were received. Your student’s writing passage was selected as one of 36 finalists in one of these 4 categories:

  • Adventure
  • Drama
  • Expository
  • Science Fiction

The contest is not over! Now it’s time to get your communities to VOTE for your student to win. Teachers, students, parents, and friends are welcome to vote for their favorite student passages to win $5,000 in classroom resources. The deadline to vote is May 3rd.   Every voter has 12 votes, one per category in each of the three grade levels!

WE’D LIKE TO THANK…..

Lowe’s in Huntersville for providing our new flowers and Ace Hardware in Cornelius for donating our new butterfly bush.  We love local businesses that support our school!

And, we’d also like to thank a great crew of parents and students for volunteering to help spruce up the Cornelius Elementary campus last week.   Thank you’s go to (drum roll please…….):

Allison Labovitz for re-painting the cougar paws, Mary Robinette for her wealth of wisdom and advice, Girl Scout Troop 2123, and the landscaping committee and volunteers led by Jennifer Guerry:  Lena Graham, Jenny Alexander, Angie Regan, Sonya Rush and Kate Stables.

Beginner’s Day For Rising Kindergarteners – April 18th

Coffee and refreshments start at 9am.  Beginner’s Day for children and parents offiicially starts at 9:30am.

There is no need to register with the school.  Simply come to see Cornelius and let your little ones get a peek at what Kindergarten is all about.

Know any Cornelius residents with a rising kindergartener?  Tell them all about it!
