Starting off with a BANG!

The 5th Annual Backyard Social & Silent Auction was a GIANT success. We want to thank everyone who turned out and turned it up; together we raised more than $25,000!

A huge shout out goes to Lindsay Meekin for all her hard work putting this event together, and a few locals who made it possible: City BBQ and Fresh Market for the amazing food, Bullfrog Moon rocked our ears off, and Sweet Magnolia Estate for the beautiful venue. What an amazing start to the year!

School Store Tomorrow & Friday!

IMG_7677

The School Store opens tomorrow, September 26. There are plenty of useful items including pencils and notebooks, ranging from $0.25 – $5.00.

In order to accommodate our younger shoppers, we will now be open on Wednesdays in the First Grade hallway, as well as on Fridays in the area near the PTO office. (Tell the kiddos to look for the sign, pictured here.)

Have your kids mine the change from the couch or do an extra chore to shop in the school store this week!

All proceeds benefit the CES PTO. Cash only.

Community Night @ Tenders

CommNight

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, September 25 for our first CES Community Night at Tenders from 5p-9p at 18341 Statesville Road, Cornelius.

A portion of every sale goes back to the school, and since Community Night calories don’t count, it’s the perfect time to order one of their delicious hand-spun shakes!

Volunteering is for Everyone

We all know “many hands make light work.” Maybe you’ve thought about volunteering at school, but weren’t sure what you can do? Great news! We LOVE our volunteers, so we have many opportunities to fit every schedule and every skillset. Read more about them out on our Volunteer page.

And the benefits to your child may be surprising! Not only are they able to spend extra special time with you, according to this article, research has shown that “volunteering at (our) children’s schools… yields broader benefits for students than previously believed. These range from higher student grades and test scores to more positive peer relationships in middle school and lower rates of depression in high school.” Wow.
