Community Night @ Mama’s Pizza

Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, October 9 for the CES PTO Community Night at Mama’s Pizza Express. Whether you dine in, take delivery or carry out, be sure to mention Cornelius Elementary as a percentage of net sales will be donated back to the PTO. And since we know Community night calories don’t count, be sure to try some of their delicious cannoli or home made tiramisu! Or both- we don’t judge.
Volunteer Spotlight: Holly Sun

Holly Sun is a native of Charlotte who moved back to Cornelius in 2006 after attending Appalachian State. She now works full time in a management role for a regional insurance company.
Holly began volunteering at CES as a room parent prior to becoming the Room Parent Coordinator during the last school year. During the 2018-2019 term, she will be acting as the Room Parent Coordinator, School Ambassador Coordinator and Holiday Store Co-Chair.
She has a third grader attending CES this year and looks forward to helping to further the collaborative and caring environment at our school!
You Can Still Help!
Couldn’t make the Backyard Social & Silent Auction but still want to help your school? We have two amazing ideas for you:
- Check out DonorsChoose.org to see how you can directly fund Cornelius Elementary teachers. They accept any donation amount and you see the direct impact of your dollars, including flexible seating, Robotics Club to promote STEAM learning, technology, new books, and so much more. There are even companies that randomly match donations, as well as a button to share on social media so you can encourage your family and friends to try to be as awesome as you are!
- Volunteer at School! (*cough*Cougar Dash on October 25 *cough*cough*) Check out the Volunteer Page to see all available opportunities. In case you missed it, there is a great article about the benefits of volunteering here…
We look forward to seeing you around school!
