Our virtual learning may be wrapping up, but summer reading is just beginning! Summer Reading Lists have been put together by your Cornelius Elementary teachers with hand picked books for each grade level.

Want to go a step further? The Virtual Book Fair will run from May 29th to August 14th. Keep up those reading skills over the break and support our school and PTO at the same time. Lots of new and great titles are available and book orders over $25 ship FREE, right to your doorstep. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends… anyone can order and help support our school! Just order with the school link below. Let’s keep them reading!

Many questions abound in the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. Parents should have received home a letter outlining all the proactive steps being taken to mitigate the spread of this virus, including limiting gatherings. The following PTO events affected include:

• 3/24 El Toro Community Night- Cancelled
• 3/28 PTO Car Wash Fundraiser- Postponed (Date TBD)
• 4/3 Urban Air Son Event- Cancelled. *Refunds processing*
• The CES School Store will be closed until further notice. 
• 4/2 PTO Board & Committee Meeting – rescheduled or relocated

*We will begin processing refunds for those who have already paid for the Son Event this weekend. Please understand one person has to process each order individually, so it will take some time. Once yours has been processed, you will receive an email. According to Square, refunds can take up to 9-14 business days to appear on your credit card.

Join us for Celebrate the Arts Talent Show & Art Expo this Thursday, March 12th from 5:00 – 6:15! The event will be followed by a brief PTO meeting and the Second and Third Grade Performance. All classes have submitted art work that will be on display in our main hallways.

During the meeting you can also preview and pre-order recommended summer reading books for your child’s next grade level. These books are hand-picked by our CES teachers! 

Please join us Thursday, March 12th for the 6th Annual Cornelius Celebrates the Arts! The event will be from 5:00-6:15, followed immediately after by the 2nd/3rd grade performance and art expo.

You can sign your student(s) up using THIS FORM sent home in Thursday folders, which is due by February 21st. There are 30 spots and they do fill quickly! (NOTE @ 02/12/20: We have already reached maximum capacity.)
