 We are located off of exit 28 at the corner of Catawba and Jetton roads in the same shopping center as Brooklyn South Pizza. We will be open from 10:00-6:00 both days.

Fall Book Fair: November 3-7


Our fall Book Fair is next week in the Media Center!  The students will be visiting the book fair throughout the week with their classes, both previewing books, then returning to purchase.  Parents are invited to attend before school (8:15-8:45am) and during lunch with their students, as well as during class preview and purchase times.  Check with your student’s teacher for times!  Grandparents are invited on Friday, when a photographer and Cornelius T. Cougar will be on hand.

The Book Fair schedule is as follows:

Monday, 11/3 from 9:00am – 2:00pm:   Preview Day

Tuesday, 11/4 from 9:00am – 2:00pm:   Preview Day

Wednesday, 11/5 from 8:15 – 2:00pm:  Purchase Day

Thursday, 11/6 from 8:15 – 2:00pm:  Purchase Day

Friday, 11/7 from 8:15 – 2:00pm:  Purchase Day and Grandparents Day.  Cornelius T. Cougar and our photographer will be there from 11:30am – 1:30pm.

Let us help make dinner easy for you!  Today and tomorrow, Brooklyn South will be donating a percentage of all sales to Cornelius Elementary.  Please join us for one night…or both!  Feel free to dine in or carry out, too.  We hope to see you there.  Thank you for supporting CES!


Final Cougar DASH Pledge Collection Tomorrow

It’s not too late!  Tomorrow morning is the FINAL Cougar DASH pledge collection.  Currently, only 30% of students have turned in completed pledges and donations.  Please bring in all completed pledges, no matter how big or small, to school in the morning.  Every little bit helps and all of the money raised goes directly to fund classroom libraries, grants for classroom needs and continuing education for our teachers and staff.  Please help us commit to Investing In Excellence at Cornelius Elementary!

2nd Cougar DASH Pledge Collection Tomorrow!

Thank you to everyone who turned in completed Cougar DASH pledges on Monday.  We have already raised $17,000 for the school!!  Our goal for the event is $20,000, and we’re getting close.  Currently, Kindergarten is in the lead with the most raised.

If you haven’t turned in your pledges, there are two collection dates left:  10/24 (tomorrow!) and 10/27.  All students who return completed pledges by tomorrow/Friday, 10/24 will receive a prize.  Final pledge count will take place on Monday, 10/27.

Batty For Box Tops Contest Winners

A big thank you to all who helped make the Batty For Box Tops contest a success! With your contributions and clippings, we submitted 8,500 Box Tops For Education and made approximately $850 for the school.

Thank you from the PTO!

We are so proud of all our Cougar DASH runners!  The children were all smiles as they raced around the track alongside police officers, Cornelius T. Cougar, Sir Purr, the Chick-Fil-A Cow and their own personal fan clubs.  A big thank you to all of you who were able to come out and support the children and volunteer to make sure everything ran smoothly.  We really appreciate your time and help!
